HUBSNR

Recreational & Performance Dance Classes | Ages 15 years +

HUBSNR classes are a combination of 45 and 90 minute classes for students in Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 (aged 15yrs+). HUBPAC offers both recreational, competitive and extension training for this age group in a multitude of styles and skill based classes. HUBSNR students have the opportunity to continue on with dance in a casual and social manner in recreational classes or focus on finessing their craft or preparing for a career in the performing arts industry.

At HUBPAC we work closely with our Senior students who are interested and preparing for a career in the performing arts industry to ensure they are the most versatile and hireable dancer, with a clear pathway for their career options.

  • Performance Teams

Performance teams are the perfect activity for dancers to work in a team environment, learn cutting edge choreography and create lifelong friendships and memories. It’s a fun, collaborative environment for performers to be involved in the creation, music, costuming and staging of each piece.

  • Ballet

Ballet is considered the foundation of technical dance. It plays a crucial role in building a solid base for further training in multiple styles. Classes consist of traditional barre and centre work following the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus. Students do not have to sit ballet examinations if they do not wish, though we do encourage it!

  • Jazz

Jazz is a popular dance style blending power, technique, confidence and entertainment. We offer HUBJNR’s weekly Jazz Technique training (Kicks/Turns/Jumps) as well as Industry/Commercial Jazz. We also have a Monday Jazz/Hip Hop Combo class for HUBJNR dancers looking for a more recreational and entry level class.

  • Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a popular and freestyle movement style that refers to street dance styles. It is a constantly evolving genre, encompassing both new-age commercial and more traditional styles. HUBPAC works to ensure we educate the accurate cultural representation of key hip hop grooves, foundations and history.

  • Latin & Ballroom

Our Latin/Ballroom classes are an incredible new addition to the HUBPAC Timetable. Ballroom dancing is an all encompassing genre which captures partnered dances such as the Waltz, Foxtrot and Tango. Students will experience a rotation of styles over the term.

  • Lyrical/Contemporary

Lyrical dance is an expressive and fluid style, requiring a strong focus on ballet and technique. The style allows students to connect their movement to music through passion and storytelling. Classes focus on developing fluid continuous and graceful movement, and self exploration.

  • Acro

Acrobatics is a more recent developing style/technique in the dance world and is a great skill for students to master. Classes are focused on each student working at their own pace so that skills can be learnt correctly in a supportive and safe environment under the guidance of qualified professionals.

  • INDUSTRY JAZZ

Our Saturday Industry Jazz is a high energy dance class focusing on picking up choreography quickly, understanding music and timing, as well as practicing (sometimes!) to camera. Teachers rotate the choreography weekly to encourage quick learning and to discover different flavours of movement.

  • HUBSTAGE

HUBSTAGE is a signature class at HUBPAC, developed to train dancers across Broadway Jazz and other show-focused styles. This class is deeply rooted in the diverse history of professional shows. HUBPAC students learn dance repertoire alongside singing and acting, ultimately working towards becoming true ‘triple threat’ performers.

  • Threading

One of our newest, and most exciting classes to launch at HUBPAC is: Threading. This is a skill/trick based class that combines both acrobatic and contemporary training. Threading is exactly what it sounds like: finding new and exciting pathways to thread the body, intertwine and unfold. This is an absolute must-try at HUBPAC!

  • Tap

Tap is a classic style that focuses mainly on rhythm and co-ordination. It is a great for allowing students to learn about musicality and timing. It enhances their other styles of dance by giving them a precise awareness of timing and musicality and further aids dancers in their journey to become versatile performers.

  • Conditioning

Conditioning is a full body-conditioning and strengthening class. This class helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best in dance and other sports. We focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body while practising safe dance.
